Moonfarmer loves good food and healthy living. Over the past several years we've found great joy in helping clients such as Fleisher’s Meats and The Monday Campaigns advocate their brands and goals.
This is why, when given the opportunity to work with HandPicked Nation, we jumped at the chance to advocate for the real food movement by helping redevelop their website.
HandPicked Nation came to us to boost their visitor retention and positioning of their content online. In our initial review of their existing website we found that, though their article, video, recipe, and product content was great, it was missing that special sauce.
We engaged in a redesign and development project for HandPicked Nation to boost the readability of their content. Working with the HPN team to develop visual standards for their website, we were able to bring forth the content experience their readership deserved.
We didn’t stop there, though. One of our principal goals was to increase the SEO value of their website in a direct and honest way. In the rebuild of the site we focused on surfacing the individual content for search engine readers, ensuring that their content was focused and visible throughout.
In our redesign process, we wanted to make sure that the HPN reader had an easy time discovering more of the rich, relevant content that HandPicked Nation’s fine authorship staff had to offer. We developed a contextual recommendations system that allows readers to see relevant articles quickly when browsing the site.
One of HPN’s core content strengths is in the fine work of filmmakers Staci Strauss and Craig McCord, who, for years, have relentlessly pursued short-form documentary production to highlight the work of great producers and chefs in the real food movement, such as Joel Salatin and Zak Pelaccio. As we worked to redevelop the website, we took special care to reorganize all of HandPicked Nation’s trove of video content into featured video players and engage to make it navigable in a more modern way.
Moonfarmer is proud to both have worked with HandPicked Nation on this project and looks forward to our ongoing work with them in 2013 as we work to grow their readership and find new and engaging ways to spotlight this unique content.
